The short answer

There is no single best international school near Sarjapur Road, but the closest to Gunjur are Greenwood High (about 2 min), TISB (3), Oakridge (6) and Inventure Academy (6) by Google Maps in October 2026. They differ by board, ICSE, IGCSE or IB, so the best choice depends on the child, the board and the commute.

"Best" is a hard word to defend in school choice. We do not rank schools here and we do not publish fees or exam scores we could not verify. What we can do is lay out what each school near Sarjapur Road and Gunjur says it offers on its own website, how long the drive is from Whispering Hues, and which questions separate a good fit from a convenient one. Use it with the schools pillar, which links a page on every campus.

What "international" means in this belt

In Bengaluru, "international school" is a marketing label, not a regulated term. It usually means one of three things: the IB (International Baccalaureate), Cambridge IGCSE and A levels, or an Indian board (ICSE/ISC or CBSE) taught in a school with international features. Check the exact programmes at the exact campus, because several schools run more than one board.

The comparison at a glance

Drive times are Google Maps from the Whispering Hues pin on a Saturday evening, 17 October 2026. Curricula are from each school's own website unless marked unverified.

School Drive Boards listed Day or boarding
Greenwood High ~2 min ICSE/ISC; IGCSE; IB at a separate Sarjapur campus day-cum-boarding
TISB ~3 min IGCSE (Gr 9-10), IB Diploma (Gr 11-12) day and boarding
Inventure Academy ~6 min Cambridge IGCSE/A levels, ICSE/ISC day
Oakridge ~6 min IB continuum (PYP, MYP, DP) not stated
DPS East ~29 min CBSE, Cambridge, NIOS, IB not stated
Harvest ~29 min CBSE (unverified) day (unverified)
NPS East ~34 min CBSE not stated
Indus ~47 min IB, IGCSE (unverified) day and boarding (unverified)
Candor ~1 hr 31 min IB, Cambridge, NIOS boarding Gr 5-12

NPS East is part of the NVT group, which is also the developer of Whispering Hues.

Choosing by board

IB families should look at Oakridge (continuum from primary to Diploma), TISB (Diploma) and, farther away, Indus and Candor. The IB asks for steady, inquiry-based learning and a broad subject spread at the end of school.

Cambridge IGCSE appears at TISB, Inventure and Greenwood High. It is exam-based with a range of subjects, and followed by A levels or the IB Diploma depending on the school.

ICSE/ISC is available at Greenwood High and Inventure and is a CISCE route recognised across India.

CBSE is the board with the widest national portability. The nearest campus we measured is the Foundation School, Gunjur at about 9 minutes; the others are 29 minutes or more.

Choosing by what matters to your child

Questions that matter more than a brochure:

  • Learning style. Does the child thrive in projects and discussion, or in structured exam preparation?
  • Class size and teacher turnover. Ask for both in writing.
  • Language policy. What second and third languages are taught, and are they compulsory?
  • Arts and sport. What does a weekday after school actually look like?
  • Path after Grade 12. Ask where recent graduates studied, and whether the school counsels for Indian and overseas universities.
  • Support. Learning support, counselling and mid-year entry practices.

The commute test

A short list is only helpful if you test the drive. Do these in order:

  1. Pick two schools inside ten minutes and one farther option.
  2. Drive each at your child's drop-off time on a weekday.
  3. Ask each school if its bus covers your address.
  4. Compare the morning with the afternoon return, which is often slower.

Remember that the developer's indicative times differ from Google Maps. For example, the developer lists Greenwood High at about 5 minutes against our 2, and DPS East at 22 against our 29. See the location guide for how we measured.

Fees, scores and rankings: what we left out

We do not quote fees because third-party figures conflict and schools set their own by grade and year. We do not quote exam scores because the most detailed numbers come from news and directory sites rather than the board. Ask the school for current fees and a written list of what they include, and cross-check results on the board's own site. Also be wary of any list that claims a definitive top ten; it reflects the publisher's methodology and, often, advertising.

Pairing the school with the home

Distance matters most when the child is young or when there are several children. A villa with a private backyard, a first-floor family lounge and a media room offers space for homework, and the community plans a kids' play area, cricket pitch and skating rink; see family-friendly villas and amenities. Admission rules and timelines are in the school admission guide.

Whispering Hues is at the EOI stage, and a site visit does not reserve a villa. The RERA number and possession date are not yet published. Book a site visit or message +91 80509 73051 on WhatsApp.

Frequently asked questions

Which international school is closest to Whispering Hues?

Greenwood High's Sarjapur ICSE/ISC campus at about 2 minutes, then TISB at about 3 minutes, according to Google Maps on a Saturday evening in October 2026. Both are close enough to reach by a short bus ride.

Is an IB school better than an IGCSE school?

Neither is better in the abstract. The IB suits students who like broad study and independent inquiry; IGCSE offers subject choice and a clear exam structure. Ask each school how it supports the child after Grade 10.

Do any of these schools publish their fees?

The pages we reviewed did not list fee amounts. Ask each admissions office for the current schedule by grade, plus any one-time charges.
