Delhi Public School Bangalore East is often shortlisted by families who want a CBSE school with a national brand. It is not a neighbour of Whispering Hues. Google Maps showed about 29 minutes and 10.1 km between the project pin and the school at Sulikunte, measured on a Saturday evening in October 2026. If you are searching for villas near DPS on Sarjapur Road, that number should shape your decision, and this page explains how.

The commute in numbers
The route Google Maps used runs along the Varthur–Sarjapur road corridor. The address on Maps is Survey No. 43, Dommasandra Post, Kodati Sulikunte Road, Sulikunte, Karnataka 562125.

The two figures differ by seven minutes. Our measurement was in evening traffic; the developer's number is an estimate. Weekday mornings can be better or worse, so test it at drop-off time. A bus with stops will take longer than a direct car trip, and a one-way bus ride beyond 45 minutes is tiring for younger children.
What the school says it offers
DPS Bangalore East's website (dpsbangaloreeast.edu.in, checked 17 October 2026) lists several boards: CBSE (kindergarten, primary, secondary and senior secondary), Cambridge IGCSE and AS/A levels, NIOS for Grades 8 to 12, and IB (the Career-related Programme and the Diploma). The CBSE affiliation record on the CBSE SARAS portal shows affiliation number 830284.
The website also describes a campus set away from the city bustle, with a library, labs, an infirmary, a cafeteria, sport including cricket and swimming, and clubs such as yoga, music, NCC and scouts. It links a transport page, but that page gave no details when we checked, and boarding is not mentioned. Admissions for 2027-28 were listed as open, with online forms separated by board and grade range, and a phone line of 080-22518100.
Because the site lists several boards, ask which ones are available for your child's grade at this campus, and whether each board has a separate admissions track. We do not quote fees, which change each year.
Who might still choose it
A family might choose DPS East for several reasons: an older child already enrolled, a preference for a particular board, parents who work along the same corridor and can drop off, or a siblings policy. If you are in those groups, consider the real trade-off: 20 to 30 minutes each way is up to an hour of travel per child daily.
If CBSE is the board but the school is flexible, compare with NPS East at about 34 minutes and Harvest International at about 29 minutes, which sit on the same side of the corridor. For CBSE closer to home, the Foundation School in Gunjur is listed at about 9 minutes on Google Maps; check its status with the school.
Making the commute workable
- Ask whether DPS East runs a bus that stops near Gunjur or along Varthur–Sarjapur Road.
- Compare a private cab pool with the school bus; some families share a driver.
- Time the morning route on a school day, not a Saturday.
- Plan homework time on the bus for older children, and check that the school allows it.
None of this is a reason to avoid DPS East. It is a reason to pick it on purpose, not by default.
Home base
If your child goes to DPS East, the villa still has a role. Whispering Hues plans a kids' play area with a sand pit, a tot-lot, a play lawn, a cricket pitch and a skating rink, which give children a place to burn energy after a long bus day. These are proposed facilities; see amenities. Bluebell is sold as 5 BHK (4 bedrooms plus a media room) and Carnation as 4 BHK; both have a private backyard and terrace. The project is at EOI stage, prices on the 25 September 2026 sheet are tentative, and the RERA number and possession date are not yet published.
