The short answer

Oakridge International School Bangalore, on Varthur Road near Dommasandra Circle, is about 6 minutes and 2.1 km by road from Whispering Hues (Google Maps, Saturday evening, October 2026). Its Bengaluru page describes the IB continuum, from the Primary Years to the Diploma Programme, but publishes no grade range or fees online.

Oakridge International School's Bengaluru campus is one of the three international schools that cluster near Dommasandra Circle, and it is about 6 minutes from Whispering Hues. Families searching for villas near Oakridge International School usually want to know two things: how bad the route is, and what the school really teaches. This page answers both, using Google Maps data from 17 October 2026 and the school's own Bengaluru page.

It is part of the schools pillar, which compares every campus we measured, and the family-friendly villas article describes the child-focused side of the community.

The route: 2.1 km, about six minutes

Google Maps gave about 6 minutes and 2.1 km from the Whispering Hues pin to Oakridge, via Ramnaikanahalli Road and the Ramnaikanahalli–Kathriguppe road, then a short stretch of the Varthur–Sarjapur road. The address on Maps is Varthur Road, Circle, near Dommasandra, Bengaluru 562125. The developer's own indicative figure is also about 6 minutes.

The final stretch near Dommasandra Circle is where school-hour traffic builds, because the road carries commuters, buses and two-wheelers together. Measured on a Saturday evening, the route is not a school-run test. Time it on a weekday morning before you decide.

Measure Figure Source
Drive time about 6 min Google Maps, Sat evening, Oct 2026
Distance 2.1 km Google Maps

For context, the closest campus is Greenwood High at about 2 minutes and TISB at about 3.

What Oakridge Bengaluru teaches

The school's Bengaluru page (oakridge.in/bengaluru, checked 17 October 2026) describes the IB continuum: the Primary Years Programme (PYP), the Middle Years Programme (MYP) and the IB Diploma Programme. The page does not give a grade range, a campus size or a boarding policy, so we do not state them.

Third-party guides list IGCSE at Oakridge as well, and Nord Anglia's group page mentions a mix of IB, IGCSE and CBSE across Oakridge's Indian schools. We could not find a current official page confirming IGCSE or CBSE at the Bengaluru campus, so treat those as questions for admissions rather than facts. Likewise, ask whether the school runs day only or has any residential option.

The practical advice: ask Oakridge for the programme map by grade. Families sometimes assume that "international school" means one uniform pathway; at most campuses the pathway changes at Grade 9 or Grade 11.

Fees and admissions

We do not quote fees. Third-party sites give conflicting ranges, none of them from the school, and fees move by grade and year. Ask Oakridge for its current schedule, and ask what is charged beyond tuition, such as transport, meals, uniforms and activities.

On admissions, the Bengaluru page directs families to an online enquiry form and to admission counsellors by phone, with a link to an admissions process page. The listed numbers on the page we reviewed were +91 95901 22488 and +91 70223 08007; confirm them on the site before calling. For documents, age rules and timelines, read our school admission guide.

How Oakridge compares with its neighbours

Within six minutes, you have an IB-led school (Oakridge), a Cambridge-and-ICSE school (Inventure), an IGCSE-plus-IB Diploma school with boarding (TISB) and an ICSE/ISC campus. That variety is unusual. It lets a family choose by teaching style and curriculum, not by whichever campus is reachable. The best international schools article sets out the comparison criteria we suggest: curriculum continuity, class size, language policy, sport and arts, and the path to university.

One caution. Having three or four schools within a short drive does not mean seats are easy to get. Popular grades fill early, so apply in the window each school sets.

The villa side

Whispering Hues is planned as a community of Bluebell and Carnation villas with private backyards, terraces and lifts. Bluebell is sold as 5 BHK (4 bedrooms plus a media room) with 4,432 sq ft built-up; Carnation is 4 BHK with 3,750 sq ft. The first-floor family lounge in each plan is the space many parents set aside for homework supervision, with the media room as a quieter study. The amenities page lists the kids' play area with sand pit, tot-lot and play lawn.

The project is at EOI stage, prices on the 25 September 2026 sheet are tentative, and the RERA number and possession date are not yet published. A site visit does not reserve a villa.
