If you are planning a move to a villa on Sarjapur Road, the school year drives your timetable more than any payment schedule does. This guide explains how admission typically works for the schools around Gunjur, what documents to prepare, how age rules work, and where to check before you rely on anything. It is general information. Every school sets its own process, and rules change, so confirm with the school and the board before acting.
It sits within our schools pillar, which compares the campuses by distance and board.
The usual sequence
Most private schools near Sarjapur Road follow a similar path.
- Enquiry. Fill an online form or call admissions. TISB, DPS East, Candor and NPS East all direct families to online enquiry or application pages.
- Campus visit or open morning. TISB lists Open Mornings from January to April; Candor offers campus tours and open house sessions.
- Application. DPS East uses separate online forms by board and grade range.
- Assessment or interaction. Schools vary. Some assess older applicants in English and mathematics; younger ones meet staff.
- Offer and fee payment. Offers carry deadlines. Ask what is refundable.
Timing: when to apply
October is not too early. When we checked official pages on 17 October 2026, DPS East said admissions for 2027-28 were open, NPS East said registrations for 2027-28 were open, and Candor was promoting admissions for 2026-27 with an open house. TISB says applications are accepted throughout the year subject to grade-level availability.
| School | What its site said (checked 17 Oct 2026) |
|---|---|
| TISB | Open Mornings Jan-Apr; applications through the year subject to availability |
| DPS East | 2027-28 admissions open; online forms per board |
| NPS East | 2027-28 registrations open |
| Candor | Admissions promoted for 2026-27; enquiry form and tour booking |
| Greenwood High | Enquiry form and online portal; no dates on the page |
| Inventure | Admission form; banner referred to an earlier year |
| Oakridge | Online enquiry and counsellors; process page linked |
For popular entry classes such as Nursery, Class 1 and Grade 9, apply as early as the school allows.
Age cut-offs
Age rules differ by board and state, and they have changed recently, so treat the figures below as a starting point.
- CBSE. Secondary sources describe a minimum of six years for Class 1, counted on or before 31 March of the admission year. We did not find the bye-law text itself in our checks, so ask the school and read the CBSE affiliation bye-laws on cbse.gov.in.
- Karnataka. The state's standard rule is six years on 1 June for Class 1. For 2025-26 the government relaxed it to five years and five months, according to news reports. Later reports mention a possible two-month relaxation, and sources disagree. Check the current Department of School Education circular (schooleducation.karnataka.gov.in).
- ICSE/ISC, IGCSE and IB. CISCE and individual schools set their own entry ages. For IB and Cambridge programmes, schools usually set age by programme and grade placement. We did not verify CISCE's rules, so ask each school.
A child moving from another state or country may be placed by assessment or by the previous school's grade. Ask whether the school accepts transfer certificates from your current board.
Documents to have ready
Schools differ, but this core set is common:
- Child's birth certificate
- Aadhaar or passport copies where requested
- Parents' address proof (a rent agreement or sale agreement may be needed)
- Passport-size photographs
- Previous report cards and transfer certificate for Grade 2 and above
- Immunisation record, for younger children
- Overseas families may be asked for visa or OCI documents
If you are buying a villa that is not yet handed over, ask whether the school accepts a booking document as address proof, or whether it needs a current lease or utility bill.
The RTE 25 per cent quota
Under the Right to Education Act, private unaided non-minority schools in Karnataka reserve 25 per cent of seats at the entry level for economically weaker and disadvantaged children, allotted through a state portal and lottery. Secondary sources put the 2026-27 application window between April and May 2026, though dates differ between sources. This is a state process separate from school admission, and eligibility depends on income and category. For current rules and dates, use the Department of School Education website. Most families buying a Rs 6 crore villa will not qualify, but it is part of the admissions landscape.
Moving mid-year
Mid-year entry is possible at some schools, depending on seats. TISB, for instance, accepts applications through the year subject to availability. Ask about the transfer certificate process and about how your child's current board maps to the new one. A move between boards, such as CBSE to IGCSE, may need a bridging plan in a subject like a second language.
How the villa and school timelines interact
Whispering Hues is at the EOI stage. The RERA registration number and possession date are not published, so do not link a school year to a handover that has no date. Many families keep the child in the current school through the first year, then move when the villa is ready. Verify the project on rera.karnataka.gov.in once a number is issued.
