Global Indian International School (GIIS) is the nearest school to NVT Whispering Hues. Its Whitefield campus sits on Gunjur Road in Heggondahalli, a few hundred metres from the project, and Google Maps shows a 2-minute drive or a 6-minute walk. For families searching for villas near Global Indian International School in Bangalore, that is the shortest school run on Varthur–Sarjapur Road. This guide covers the route, what the school offers, how buses and admissions work, and where being this close helps less than it seems.
For every school nearby, see our pillar on villas near international schools on Sarjapur Road. The next-closest options are Greenwood High and TISB.
Distance and route to GIIS Whitefield
We measured from the project pin to the GIIS listing on Google Maps on 21 October 2026.
| Measure | Value | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Drive time | about 2 min | Google Maps, 21 Oct 2026 |
| Drive distance | 500 m | Google Maps |
| Walking time | about 6 min, 500 m | Google Maps |
| Developer's indicative time | about 4 min | sales presenter |
| Address on Maps | No 5, 6, 8, Whitefield Sarjapur Main Road, Gunjur Road, Heggondahalli Village, 560087 | Google Maps |
The shortest route runs along Ramnaikanahalli Road and the Ramnaikanahalli–Kathriguppe road. Google Maps flags part of it as a road with restricted use or private access, so check on a site visit whether that stretch is open at school hours. If it is not, the drive via the main road is longer, which is closer to the developer's 4-minute figure.
A 500-metre walk is short enough for an older child to manage with a parent, but check footpaths and crossings in person before planning on it.
What GIIS teaches
The GIIS Bangalore website (globalindianschool.org/bangalore, checked 21 October 2026) describes two Bangalore campuses, Whitefield and Bannerghatta, both CBSE-affiliated. It lists these programmes:
- Global Montessori Programme (GMP) for pre-school and pre-primary years.
- CBSE from Nursery to Grade 12, with Grade 10 and Grade 12 board results published for the Whitefield campus.
- Cambridge from Grade 6 to Grade 12. The page does not say which campus runs it, so confirm that the Whitefield campus offers Cambridge before you rely on it.
The school group says it was founded in 2002 and organises learning around a "9 GEMS" framework covering academics, sports, arts, values and leadership. The Whitefield campus principal is named on the site as Mr Manoj Kumar Tiwari.
GIIS gives Whispering Hues families a CBSE option at the gate. If you want IGCSE and the IB Diploma instead, TISB is a few minutes away; for ICSE/ISC alongside IGCSE and IB, see Greenwood High.
School buses and admissions
The GIIS Bangalore page lists school-bus route areas that include Muneshwara Temple in Gunjur, Varthur Police Station, Dommasandra, Sarjapura and Carmelaram; it does not say which campus each route serves. At 500 metres you may not need the bus, but the list shows GIIS draws families from this corridor.
On admissions, the site says admissions are open for 2026–27 and invites families to schedule a campus tour. Fees, seat availability by grade and entrance assessments are not stated on the pages we reviewed. Ask the school for the current fee schedule and what is charged on top of tuition, and see our school admission guide for typical timelines on this corridor.
What living this close changes
A school two minutes away changes daily life more than any clubhouse amenity. Younger children can be dropped off and collected by a grandparent or helper without a car journey, after-school clubs no longer clash with the commute home, and a sick-bay call does not mean leaving a meeting across town.
The limits are worth stating. Being next door does not guarantee a seat, and a campus this close can mean school-hour traffic on Gunjur Road outside your gate. Visit at 8 am on a weekday to see how the lane handles drop-off before you choose a plot facing that side of the layout.
