Whitefield looks close on a map, so villas near ITPL Whitefield sound like a no-brainer from Gunjur. Google Maps says otherwise on a bad evening: about 59 minutes for 12.8 km from NVT Whispering Hues to International Tech Park Bengaluru (ITPB, commonly ITPL), measured on a Saturday evening in October 2026. The developer's own indicative time is about 41 minutes. The truth sits between, and it depends on your hour of travel. For the wider set of campuses, see villas near IT parks on Sarjapur Road.
What ITPL is
International Tech Park Bangalore is a 69-acre integrated development on ITPL Main Road, Whitefield, with offices, a retail mall and a hotel, according to CapitaLand, and is jointly owned by Ascendas and KIADB (Ascendas press release; first proposed in 1992 as an India-Singapore initiative). Google rates it 4.4 from 26,592 reviews (October 2026). Total built-up figures in older releases are close to 2.3 million sq ft but may be dated; check current facts.
Other Whitefield campuses are similar in timing from Gunjur: Google showed about 56 minutes to Brigade Tech Park and about 40 minutes (9.1 km) to Sigma Soft Tech Park, which lies closer to Varthur.
Villas near ITPL Whitefield: the measured drive
| Item | Reading |
|---|---|
| Time | about 59 min (Google Maps, Sat evening, Oct 2026) |
| Distance | 12.8 km |
| Suggested road | Varthur Road |
| Developer's indicative time | about 41 min |
| Sigma Soft Tech Park | about 40 min, 9.1 km |
| Brigade Tech Park | about 56 min, 12.5 km |
The 18-minute gap between the developer's figure and ours is the biggest of any campus in this series. Varthur Road is the story: it carries Whitefield-bound traffic and slows heavily at times, Treat our figure as a pessimistic Saturday-evening reading and the developer's as an optimistic one.
Bottlenecks and alternatives
Varthur Road is a single main artery for this direction. On weekdays, expect a morning and evening build-up that we have not measured. Side-road alternatives may exist, but we did not test them, and Google chose Varthur Road itself.
If you work at Sigma Soft Tech Park, the better distance gives you the better odds.
Metro and shuttles
The Purple Line extension from Krishnarajapura to Whitefield (Kadugodi) opened in 2023, with the inauguration reported on 25 March 2023 and public service later that year (Wikipedia and Housing.com differ on exact dates, so verify with BMRCL). Reports describe a walkway to ITPL from Agrahara (Swarajya and India Infra Hub, accessed October 2026).
For a Gunjur resident, the metro helps only if you drive or cab to a Purple Line station first, adding a change. Many Whitefield commuters rely on company shuttles; ask whether yours serves Varthur Road. For the Outer Ring Road side, the Blue Line is under construction.
Reverse commute
We have not measured weekday directional flow on Varthur Road, so we cannot promise a reverse-commute advantage. Check Google Maps with a 'depart at' time for morning and evening before assuming one.
How Whispering Hues fits an ITPL employee
Gunjur works for ITPL staff who are hybrid or who can start late. The case for the villa is outside the commute: schools in minutes (Greenwood High about 2, TISB about 3, Inventure Academy about 6; Google Maps, October 2026), and a home with a media room and family lounge for work-from-home days (see villas for IT professionals in Bangalore). Whitefield living is a different pitch, and our Whitefield vs Sarjapur Road comparison covers it.
If you need to be at ITPB five days a week, living in Whitefield itself is probably a better fit. See the location guide. Tentative price ₹5.96 Cr to ₹7.05 Cr (price sheet, 25 September 2026); other charges and taxes extra; EOI stage; RERA and possession date not yet published. Planning around the spread
When a commute can range from 41 to 59 minutes, plan for the worse number and be pleasantly surprised on the good days. Three practical steps help. Fix your office days to the ones with lighter traffic if your team allows. Carry a flexible start: arriving at 10 am rather than 9 am may save more than any road choice. And keep a metro fallback in mind, since the Purple Line is an operating alternative for the Whitefield end of the journey, though you would still need a road leg from Gunjur to reach a station.
Staff at ITPB who want a Whitefield-side home may also consider that the Purple Line stations and tech parks are on the other side of the Varthur lake belt from Gunjur. Our guide to the Whitefield and Sarjapur Road micro-markets, linked above, compares what each side offers beyond the commute.
