The short answer

Forum Shantiniketan in Whitefield is now listed on Google Maps as Nexus Shantiniketan Mall, about 17.2 km and 1 hour 3 minutes from Whispering Hues on a Saturday evening in October 2026. It has a Google rating of 4.5 from 90,719 reviews and suits a planned outing, not weekly errands.

When we searched Google Maps for "Forum Shantiniketan Whitefield", it returned "NEXUS SHANTINIKETAN MALL" on Whitefield Main Road, Thigalarapalya. From the NVT Whispering Hues pin in Gunjur it measured about 17.2 km and 1 hour 3 minutes on Saturday evening, 17 October 2026, via Sarjapura–Bangalore Road and Varthur Road. The Google rating shows 4.5 from 90,719 reviews. This page explains the name change and whether the trip makes sense. It sits alongside our guide to villas near malls on Sarjapur Road.

The Forum to Nexus rename

The mall is the same Whitefield property that many Bengaluru residents still call Forum Shantiniketan. Google now lists it as Nexus Shantiniketan Mall, and Wikipedia's Whitefield entry lists "Nexus Shantiniketan Mall" among the area's malls. The same Wikipedia page notes that Nexus Whitefield was earlier called The Forum Neighborhood Mall, which shows the wider Forum-to-Nexus rebranding. We could not find an official announcement with the date for this specific mall, so we cannot state when the change happened. Older listings, including some travel sites, still use the Forum name. Search both names when you navigate.

What is inside

A Provident Housing mall guide lists tenants such as Max, Westside, Timezone, Spar, Lifestyle, Caratlane, Soch, Jack & Jones, Louis Philippe, Van Heusen, Levi's and Biba, a Cinepolis cinema, and more than 30 restaurants including a four-level microbrewery, naming Fox In The Field, You Mee, Punjab Grill, Toscano, Chai Point and Taco Bell. It also mentions multilevel parking and an electric charging station. That is a single third-party source, so verify the current mix before a special trip.

The drive from Gunjur

Detail Value
Google result NEXUS SHANTINIKETAN MALL, Whitefield Main Rd
Distance 17.2 km
Drive time about 1 hr 3 min (Saturday evening, varies)
Rating 4.5 from 90,719 reviews

The developer's indicative time in its sales deck is about 46 minutes. The difference is, again, traffic. Nexus Whitefield, a different mall on Whitefield Main Road, was about 45 minutes and 9.1 km, and Phoenix Marketcity about 1 hr 6 min and 21.1 km on the same evening. So Nexus Shantiniketan is among the farthest of the commonly named malls.

Best times to go

A mall with this many reviews is busy. Pick a weekday afternoon or a Sunday morning for a calmer visit, and expect weekend evenings to be crowded both inside and on the approach roads. If you want the cinema or a brewery meal, book ahead.

The Whitefield Main Road side is also where the ITPL cluster sits; see the IT professionals guide. If you work in Whitefield, the maths shifts, as ITPB is about 59 minutes and Brigade Tech Park 56 minutes away by Google's evening measurement.

Closer alternatives

For routine shopping, use the Sarjapur Road centres: Confident Oxygen or Forum The Prestige City. There is no need to confuse the Forum on Sarjapur Road with the Forum-named property in Whitefield; they are different malls on opposite ends of the belt. For the nearby Whitefield side of the story, see villas near Whitefield and Sarjapur Road.

Parking, transport and timing

Per the mall guide, Nexus Shantiniketan has multilevel parking and a charging station. With a Google review count in the tens of thousands, expect queues at the entrance on weekend evenings. We did not verify the nearest metro station or walking distance and do not give figures. From Gunjur, a car remains the practical option. If you plan to make the trip with older relatives, choose a weekday morning and a drop-off near the entrance.

A balanced view

A mall of this scale is a good once-in-a-while destination, and many residents of the Gunjur belt will treat it that way. Living here means accepting the distance in exchange for plots of 2,112 to 2,368 sq ft, a private lift and a quieter setting. Whispering Hues is at the EOI stage with tentative prices of ₹5.96 Cr to ₹7.05 Cr (25 September 2026 price sheet). See luxury living in East Bangalore and the project overview.
